Writing is one of the productive skills that a learner is expected to achieve in order to ensure his communicative competence. Writing is a visual Representation of speech in writing and speaking the language learner is engaged in communicating his ideas and feelings

The skill of writing is considered to be one of the to active skills. The process of writing is divided into three stages.

Structure

Written work should be clear with appropriate beginning, development and conclusion. Paragraphing and transitions should also be clear and appropriate.

Content

The length of the written work should be sufficient to cover the topic and provides in-depth coverage of the topic.

Mechanics

Written work should be free of errors Written work has no major errors in word selection and use, sentence structure, spelling, punctuation, and capitalization.

IMPROVING WRITING SKILLS

· Take a basic grammar course

· Convert your thoughts into words by writing. This is the most important practice.

· Read and Listen. Though reading and listening you will learn new words

· Proofread aloud everything going out. By reading aloud, your ear will catch mistakes your eye misses.

· Write about the time you enjoyed/wasted.

· Write about your favorite hero/movie/festival.

· Write anything. Just write.

· Add emotion to your writing

· Do not lecture. Write only what must be understood to make the proper decision or choice.

· Make a Rough draft of all important letters and reports.

· Always remember, There is no substitute for EXCELLENCE.

· Write in isolation. You will always get better words and idea.
